5-Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1—Delhi to Agra:
Meet your chauffeur at your Delhi hotel to be driven via private car to the medieval city of Agra. Upon arrival, the car is at your disposal for a leisurely exploration of this historic city (within city limits).

Day 2—Agra:
Experience the world-famous Taj Mahal in the morning light. Completed in 1654, the Taj Mahal was built to enshrine the remains of Queen Mumtaz Mahal and has become one of the most recognizable and impressive structures in the world.

Red Fort is the next stop. More palatial walled city than fort, Red Fort’s towering 1.5-mile (2.4-km) sandstone walls enclose incredible marble palaces, gardens, and ornate mosques and monuments. Explore this grand complex before moving on to the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah. Often described as the “jewel box” for its ornate architecture and ornamentation, this impressive tomb predates the Taj Mahal and is regarded by some to be a draft version of its larger cousin. Back in Agra, the car is at your disposal for more exploration (within city limits).

Day 3—Agra to Jaipur:
En route to Jaipur, stop for a day’s excursion at Fatehpur Sikri, the erstwhile political capital of the Mughul Empire. Established in 1569 by Emperor Akbar, the city was abandoned only 2 decades later, largely due to lack of water. Fatehpur Sikri today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover why while touring the grand Jama Masjid, the graceful tomb of Salim Christi, and the 5 tiered stories of the white marble Panch Mahal.

Day 4--Jaipur:
Travel to Amber Fort for a morning tour of this majestic complex set amidst the rugged hills of Maotha Lake. Originally constructed in the 16th century, the fort and its palaces were modified over the next 150 years by successive rulers to become the stately attraction it is today.

Drive back to Jaipur for an afternoon tour. aptly known as the Pink City (after its many pink-colored buildings). Begin with a tour of the opulent and imposing structures at the City Palace, which houses both museums and the current royal family. Stop by the Observatory to witness ingenious 18th-century astronomical devices, including a massive sundial that tells time within 2 seconds of accuracy. End with a visit to Ram Niwas Gardens and a drive through the pink residential and business areas of Jaipur.

Overnight in Jaipur (accommodation on own)

Day 5—Jaipur to Delhi:
Morning transfer back to Delhi to hotel accommodation or the city center.
